Arisu

It's the start of Spring Break and to celebrate, my son and I have decided to pay a visit to this local neighborhood eaterie called Arisu Japanese Restaurant. Arisu - a name meaning noble and kind, is a small sushi bar nestled on the very busy corner of East 41st Avenue and Victoria Drive. When you walk in, your are greeted by warm smiles and friendly hellos. The decor of the restaurant is neither brash nor ostentatious. Its style borders on both Japanese minimalism and shabby chic. The food however runs on the edges of scrumptious and delicious.

Arisu is your typical Sushi-ya (a restaurant that specializes mainly in sushi). You have the choice to either sit at the counter and watch the sushi chefs at work or dine alone or with family and friends at one of their tables.

So what makes Arisu a fantastic place to dine? The prices are reasonable and the wait time isn't very long. Food presentation is simple but elegant and beautiful, and as I mentioned earlier, absolutely delicious. There's not too many hot-plate items, so come for the rolls, cones, salads and sashimis. A Must EAT Here place!
